Tenth edition of Meet Magento Germany: Our Review
Meet Magento DE took place for the 10th time on July 04 & 05. The leading event for Magento and e-commerce hosted about 600 attendees, 50 speakers and 35 sponsors and was a success all along the line.
After getting in the mood with all sponsors, speakers, the Magento team and the organizers at a cozy dinner on sunday, the Meet Magento opened for all further attendees on Monday morning. After deputy of the Bundestag Dr. Thomas Feist talking about the importance of digitalization, Thomas Goletz, founder of Meet Magento Association, took a stand about the collaboration between Magento and Meet Magento that got announced at MagentoLive UK a few weeks ago. Magento strengthens Meet Magento Association’s position and uses the network to collaborate more closely with Magento users, agencies and partners. But: Meet Magento will still be independent!
Another highlight announced at the opening is the “best of all online conference” Meet Magento World, which will provide speeches of the best speakers from over 25 conferences from all over the world.
After the grand opening, the 600 attendees spread over three conference rooms and two workshops rooms. Our new location pentahotel Leipzig was complimented a lot regarding the friendly and helpful staff – we can only subscribe this!
The conference rooms had been classified as Developers, Conference and Business Rooms. Developers Room mainly hosted Magento 1 and 2 topics. Speeches about Internationalization, B2B e-commerce, ERP, PIM, Digitalization and Marketing got held in both the other rooms. Attendees learned and discussed about Snapchat for Business, SEO, Customer Experience and Video Marketing in the Workshop Rooms.
After a successful first conference day, the after-show party was held in the Moritzbastei as usual, sponsored again by Maxcluster. As one of the biggest cultural centers in Leipzig, the Moritzbastei is only a few minutes by foot from pentahotel. Making the party of Meet Magento DE again THE best after-show party, the crowd was dancing, laughing, chatting and partying until the early morning.
The second conference day also held some highlights for attendees of MM16DE – for example the opening keynote by Magento Evangelist Ben Marks. After the session of real Magento developer Maxim Yeakterynenko the traditional Delevoper’s Barcamp with live programming took place.
In the other session rooms in pentahotel our attendees had the chance to participate in more presentations and workshops until the Meet Magento Award. The award for the best Magento online shop regarding Design & Usability was won by Type Hype. Second and third best shops are Gigaset and Fischer Sports.
The MM16DE was the first Meet Magento Lydia and I organized by ourselves. Much thanks to all of you for this nice and friendly welcome. It was a pleasure to meet you in personal the last days. Furthermore we are a bit wistful that the Meet Magento is already over. So, we hope to see you all again next year.
So that MM17DE will also be a success, please give us feedback!
